Why a losing position shows under Liabilities
It is not a bug. Seed classifies holdings by gain and loss so a position that is underwater reduces net worth honestly.
A holding currently worth less than what you paid for it can appear under Liabilities. This is intentional.
Seed classifies by gain and loss rather than by instrument type, so a position that is down reduces your net worth honestly instead of quietly padding the asset column. When the position recovers above what you paid, it moves back.
The principle behind it
Net worth is the scoreboard, and a scoreboard that flatters you is useless. Seed would rather show an uncomfortable number than a wrong one.
